Canada Immigration Targets for 2023-2025
Due to critical labour market shortages, Canada came up with an ambitious 2023-2025 immigration level plan to help businesses find skilled workers. The plan aims at attracting the skills required to meet labour shortages at key sectors, like healthcare, manufacturing, skilled trades, and technology.
In a span of three years, Canada will increase the number of new immigrants, i.e., 465,000 newcomers in 2023, 485,000 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025. Express Entry draws are going to be critical to help Canada reach the set targets and welcome new immigrants as permanent residents across different sectors.
The new plan is also aiming to increase regional programs to better fulfil targeted local labour market shortages, via the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), and the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).
