The draw took place on March 9, 2023, and saw Alberta issue 134 fresh Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination to Express Entry candidates, with a CRS score requirement of only 301 points.
Lowest CRS score requirement of the year
This is the lowest CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score requirement by Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) this year. Alberta- Express Entry stream is the only Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) stream that offer such low eligibility points from the skilled worker applicants. This is also relatively low points requirement compare to the CUT OFF in the federal Express Entry System.
The selected applicants in AAPI get the chance to permanently live and work in Alberta, which in turn offers opportunities in various industries, i.e. technology and energy, as well as access to much needed amenities for new immigrants, i.e. quality healthcare, education, and cultural facilities.
For those who may not receive an invitation for Canadian PR Visa in the EE System due to low scores, the AAIP- Express Entry stream serves as a fitting way to raise their CRS scores through provincial nomination. On receipt of 600 additional points (earned based on Alberta nomination), the applicants can get the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for PR visa from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The AAIP draw is just one of the several measures taken by Alberta to welcome skilled professionals from around the globe and to encourage immigration to the province.
