The Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the latest draw of Federal Express Entry System on May 30, 2024 to invite 2,985 candidates this time around. This draw was dedicated to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates only, i.e. the candidates who already have 600 points acquired from based on the provincial nomination they have received from a particular Canadian province. This being the PNP only Express Entry draw the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score is bit high than the normal. However, with the category-based draws in pipeline, it is going to drop soon in the interest of applicants with relatively low CRS point score.

Category-Based Selections this year

Canada has continued the same six categories for category-based selection in Express Entry draws throughout 2024. These categories include:

  • A strong French language proficiency or
  • Work experience in one of the below fields:
    • healthcare
    • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
    • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
    • transport
    • agriculture and Agri-food
