Canada Set to Announce Latest Immigration Level Plans for Next 3 Years
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will soon announce its Immigration levels plan for next three years, i.e., 2023-2025.
The detailed plan help aspiring immigrants find out how many newcomers will be allowed to enter Canada under economic class, family class, and humanitarian class programs.
As per Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), the Canadian government is bound to announce its immigration level plan every year by November 1. Therefore, the IRCC is expected to release the plan latest by November 1, 2022 for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Canada to announce second immigration level plan this year
The plan announcement for 2022-2024 was schedule for November 1, 2021, but it was paused until February 2022 as the Canadian parliament resumed in mid-January 2022. Therefore, the Canadian Government decided to release its new Immigration Level Plan as per its regular schedule.
Understanding Current Canadian Immigration Level Plan
As per Immigration Level Plan 2022-2024, the Canadian government will welcome 431,645 new comers as permanent residents via all the immigrant classes in 2022.
So far in 2022, the IRCC has already invited 300,000 newcomers, out of which maximum number of candidates were invited under economic class programs.
According to the upcoming plan, IRCC is targeting to welcome up to 241,850 economic class immigrants in 2022, 105,000 under family class, and 8,250 under humanitarian class. However, the targets might differ after IRCC's announcement of its latest Immigrant Levels Plan for 2023-2025.
