Canada Travel Update

Since July 19, 2022, the Canadian government has changed the Arrival testing requirements for all air travellers.

According to the latest news release by the Public Health Agency of Canada, the government has resumed mandatory random testing from July 19, 2022, for all the fully vaccinated air travellers arriving at the four major airports.

As of 19th July 2022:

·        Mandatory random arrival testing is resumed for fully vaccinated air travellers arriving at four Canadian airports:

Calgary

Vancouver

Toronto

Montreal

·       All the testing for air travellers arriving in Canada to be done outside of Canadian airports, either:

Via in-person appointments at pharmacies or testing provider locations, or

A virtual appointment for a self-swab test.

·       Air travellers selected for a random test will get an email within 15 minutes of completing the customs declaration.

·      Those air travellers whose random test result comes out positive will go into 10 days of isolation, even if the isolation requirement of their particular province or territory is shorter.

Apart from this, all travellers must use the ArriveCAN app or website and submit mandatory travel-related information within 72 hours before arrival in Canada or boarding a cruise ship to Canada.

Mandatory random testing and updated information in the ArriveCAN will help the Canadian government protect its people's safety and health.
