IRCC Changed Minimum CRS score

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) mistakenly published the CRS score requirement as 511 for the 14th September draw but shortly rectified the error and changed it to 510 at about 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Updated Express Entry Draw Results: September 14, 2022

  • Draw Date: 17-September-2022
  • No. of ITAs (Invitations to Apply) Issued: 3,250
  • Minimum CRS Score Requirement: 510
  • Tie-Breaking Rule: September 13, 2022 at 00:38:05 UTC

Express Entry CRS Score Decreasing Gradually

Like the previous Express Entry invitation round, the CRS score is gradually decreasing since IRCC's resumed all-program EE draws on 6th July. Moreover, from the first quarter of 2023, Canada will start inviting Express Entry applicants based on occupation groupings.

As per Bill C-19, announced earlier in 2022, the immigration minister is also eligible to invite applicants based on occupation groupings instead of CRS scores alone.

Groupings may include a combination of the applicant's work experience with in-demand occupations or particular occupations, educational background and language proficiency. Since candidates will be ranked against one another in the grouping instead of the whole Express Entry pool, the CRS score is most likely to be significantly lower compared to the recent general EE draws.
