Monthly Updates: Canada PNP Draws & Latest News in January 2023

While Canada continued to surprise everyone with huge Express Entry draws, Canadian provinces continue to invite eligible overseas workers to immigrate to their respective territory or province.

Let's find out the monthly roundup of Canada's PNP draws in January 2023.

British Columbia PNP Draw

British Columbia held a total of 10 provincial nominee draws, out of which 7 were targeted draws for health care workers and tech occupations. 

Through these draws, British Columbia issued over 1,096 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in the month of January.

Manitoba PNP Draw

In January, the Manitoba opened a total of 3 MPNP draws and invited 679 candidates under key categories, including Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams.

Manitoba also held a special measure draw and invited a total of 21 Ukraine nationals with a minimum score requirement of 60 points.

PEI PNP Draw

Prince Edward Island held one Expression of Interest (EOI) draw and issued 216 ITAs through Labour and Express Entry stream and 7 candidates under Business Work Permit Entrepreneur stream.

Ontario PNP Draw

In January, Ontario opened two targeted draws on January 10th and 13th draws and issued a total of 1656 NOIs (Notification of Interest) letters via Skilled Trades stream and Economic Mobility Pathways.

Ontario again opened OINP draw on 24th, 25th and 27th January and invited a significant number of candidates.

What is Canada's Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs)?

A PNP allows each province and territory in Canada to invite eligible foreign workers via different immigration streams based on specific provincial needs. Each province, except Quebec, operate different PNP streams and targets international students, recent graduates, entrepreneurs, and skilled and semi-skilled workers depending on labour market needs.
