About Economic Mobility Pathways Project

The project combines economic immigration and refugee resettlement. This pathway is designed to:

  1. help skilled refugees move to Canada via existing economic programs
  2. give employers access to qualified candidates for filling job positions 

To be eligible for the Canada's EMPP, candidates must:

  • be a convention or country of asylum refugee
  • have any one of the following documents:
    1. a positive, valid Refugee Status Determination (RSD) obtained from the UNHCR or any refugee-hosting state
    2. registration or recorded asylum seeker abroad
    3. a “person of concern” letter obtained from UNHCR 
  • be outside Canada and their country of persecution 
  • be admissible to Canada
  • be eligible for any one of the economic immigration programs
    1. Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
    2. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
    3. Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)
