To receive Notifications of interest (NOI) letter in this invitation round, candidates must have prior work experience in any one of the occupations listed below:

  • NOC 72024 - Supervisors, motor transport and other ground transit operators
  • NOC 72106 - Welders and related machine operators
  • NOC 72204 - Telecommunications line and cable installers and repairers
  • NOC 72310 - Carpenters
  • NOC 73112 - Painters and decorators (except interior decorators)

About Ontario's Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream

This stream is exclusively designed for foreign workers with prior work experience in Ontario in eligible skilled trades.

To qualify for this stream, you must have a valid profile in the Express Entry system and obtain a Notification of Interest (NOI) letter from Ontario before applying online for nomination by the government of Ontario for Canadian permanent residence.

To qualify, you must:

  • have a valid certificate or a license in Ontario, if you have experience in any compulsory trade
  • be living in Ontario and have a valid work permit while applying 
  • read, write, speak and understand either English or French and have scored at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 or above in a valid language test
  • have enough settlement funds to support yourself and your family members (if any) in Canada
