Selection Requirements

In order to qualify under FSWP, you have to meet minimum eligibility requirements:

  • Work experience- You must have at least 1 year of full-time, continuous work experience in a skilled occupation gained within past 10 years or an equal part-time experience. It has be a skilled work experience and must be classified under NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B.
  • Language Proficiency- You must meet score CLB level 7 in an approved English or French language examination, like IELTS.
  • Education Level- You must have a certificate, diploma or degree from secondary institution or post- secondary institution either from Canada or abroad. However, in case of education gained abroad, you must submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated organization.

If you meet the above requirements and you are admissible to Canada, the IRCC will then assess your application based on key factors including, age, education, work experience, language skills, adaptability and job offer. All these factors are a part of Canada's FSW points grid and you are required to score minimum 67 points out of 100 to become eligible to submit and enter the Express Entry pool of candidates.
